AN IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Our policy on breakers: Used and Obsolete Breakers are 6 month EXCHANGE ONLY while supplies last, we do not accept returns nor provide refunds. New breakers in the box are covered by manufacture warranty and are only exchanged if damaged or has a manufactured defect, no returns or refunds are provided. We ask everyone to be absolutely sure of the breakers requested by having the following information about your breaker available. In some cases where it is not possible due to age and wear, a picture is greatly appreciated.

1) Manufacturer: This is usually printed as the title to the breaker.

2) Type or Catalog Number: The word "Type" may be present or "Cat." followed by Characters or Numbers or Both.

3) Style: Write it down if it is present. Not always known and is often left off, unless it is important to fit the breaker into a specific type of panel interior, it is normally not asked for.

4) Voltage: It will be listed as 120/240 or 240 or 480 or 600 or some combination of all these; followed by Hz or Hertz Frequency of operation. Note: This is very important to remember, in some cases it may be permissible to use a higher voltage breaker in a lower voltage unit, but NEVER use a lower voltage breaker in a higher voltage unit. Additionally, DON'T confuse the amperage or current with the voltage!

5) Amperage (Amps): The numerical value of Amps the breaker will allow to pass through without tripping it out. It is usually printed on the handle somewhere or in the case of larger breakers on the Trip Face Plate area.

6) AIC: "Automatic Interrupting Current" value, usually shown on the breaker as 10K, 22K, 42K, 65K or simply show 10,000; etc. In some cases on commercial applications this may be specific to a panel requirement. Most often in residential applications it will be 10K or 10,000; still make a note of it. If this is for a residential application it is not normally asked for. However for commercial applications it can be important.
