Thermal Overload Relays

San Diego Electric Inc. has Thermal Overload Relays:

Our stock is very good for domestic brand starters such as Square D, Allen Bradley, Cutler Hammer, Furnas, Siemens, ITE, FPE, Westinghouse and General Electric. Used to protect the motor; they trip during an over current condition. The thermal overload relay heaters come in two styles current specific and solid state. We have an outstanding selection of current specific heaters and a good selection on some solid state overload relays.

Is a very important part of your motor protection. These units are normally found attached to the contactor on the T1, T2 and T3 connection points and are characterized by a reset button. Like the contactors; they are sized according to current ratings it will trip at. They sort of act like a circuit breaker for a motor, if an over current condition occurs then it will trip and cut the voltage off from the coil and open the circuit thus turning it off. Now for us to help you with this, a few things have to be known.

a. What is the manufacture of your unit, if unknown; take a picture?
b. What is the Maximum amp of the motor in which it is being used on?
c. Is it a solid state sensing unit, meaning the wire goes through the unit without any formal attachment?
d. Or is it physically attached to the contactor by wire or metal conductor?
